Prokart SSS 24 Hour Endurance Kart Race

PROKART AFRICA 24 HOUR ENDURANCE

Welcome to Africa’s only Premiere 24 Hour Endurance Karting event, hosted by Prokart SSS.

 

This prestigious event will be held at Laserfiche Raceway over 2 days on 1 & 2 December 2018. The entire event will be have a professional team and cameras setup for live streaming with professional commentary provided by the voice of choice, Greg Moloney and his team. There will be team interviews, pit interviews, live timing and more. There will be great racing lined up for all drivers and great entertainment available for all visitors (racing simulators and more). There are limited grid slots available. Only 45 lucky teams will compete in this Premiere event and 22 are already taken!

The Prokart Africa 24 Hour Endurance event will also be raising funds for the Catherine Robson Children’s home in Vereeniging.

What do I need to enter?

EARLY BIRD Entry – CLOSED

Entry Fee per Kart: R11 000 (50% now and 50% by 31 August);

Current Registered Prokart SSS Endurance teams only pay R2000 deposit by 30 June and Entry fee fixed at R11 000.

 

Normal Entry – 1 June to 31 August 2018

Entry Fee per Kart: R12 500 (50% deposit and 50% by 31 August)

Grid Slots available: 23

Drivers: Minimum 4 Drivers required

Tyres: Included in fee

Fuel: Included in fee

Engine Rental: Available on request (email 24hour@prokartsss.co.za )

Full Race Kart Hire: None Left for hire. Contact us if you have one you wish to hire out your kart to other teams. (email 24hour@prokartsss.co.za )

General Rules for the 24 Hour:

  • 24 Hours with mandatory stops
  • Minimum 4 Drivers per team
  • Minimum Drive time of 120 min per driver
  • Two Tyre compounds will be used by each team. One Soft compound and one Hard compound. Tyres will be controlled and issued to all teams on the day. It is advisable to have an additional set of rims to make tyre changes easier. Each team must use both compounds during the race and it is their choice as to when each compound is used. Tyre lifespan expectations of each compound will be revealed to teams prior to raceday. Tyres will be serialised and cannot be swapped with other teams.
  • Fuel will be controlled and supplied. Fuel provided will be 95 Octane.
  • Any CIK FIA Homologated kart chassis may be used
  • Engine, Sprocket and other technical specifications will follow the same as Prokart SSS Endurance regulations. Click here to download the technical regs. Only engines sealed and recorded by the official engine builder will be accepted on the day. Engine seals and serial numbers will be checked against the official database. The official engine builder is 4Stroke Workshop.
  • 50% of the entry fee must be paid within 7 days of entering. The remaining 50% must be paid before 31 August 2018.
  • The limit for entries is 45 karts. Once the grid is full and all teams have paid their full entry fees, entries will be closed immediately.
  • Final Programme for the day will be issue after all entries have closed. There will be a dedicated practice session for all teams on the day. Practise time will range between 1-2 hours.
  • There will be a qualifying session for all classes to determine grid positions for the start of the race.
  • Prizes will be given for the top 3 per class as well as overall top 3.
  • It is advisable that all teams ensure that drivers are fit and capable of participating in this event by attending practice sessions at the track prior to the event.
