Prokart SSS Q4 2019 Announcements

Dear Prokarter,

Round 9 Day/Night

The next race on the calendar is the day/night race at Vereeniging Kart Circuit on Saturday 12 October. Entries will open soon. Start preparing your karts for night time driving with at least one white front facing light and one rear facing red light. Final details will be released once entries and regs are open.

Round 10 Venue Change to the new Formula K Circuit

The Prokart SSS Committee is excited to share with you an initiative that has been underway for quite a while. We’re sure you have all heard about the new Formula K Circuit opening up in Benoni soon. This circuit has been under construction for a long time and there has been quite a lot of buildup to the opening and everyone is very keen to see what it looks like and take her for a spin.

Well, as a Prokart SSS Member, you will be the first karts ever to race on this iconic A-Grade short circuit, according to the latest CIK/FIA standards. This makes it the only short circuit compliant to host a world championship in Southern Africa, and you will be racing on it in the final round of the Prokart SSS 2019 Championship.

2019 has been a long and tough year for everyone and as a committee, we wanted to do something exciting for you to end off the year on a high. The race will be held on 16th November and although some facilities are still under construction, the venue has been surveyed by the committee and we will have everything we need to have a great day’s racing. More information will be shared closer to the time in preparation for the big day. Make sure you don’t miss out!

ProkartAfrica24HourLogoClock383x170

Many club members, as well as non-members have been asking about this year’s 24 hour event. We are humbled by the interest and support we have received and we are happy to announce that we will be hosting the Africa 24 Hour race this year on 6 December 2019. The event will run from the Friday afternoon and finish on Saturday afternoon, 7 December. It will be a non championship round and thus, based on interest we’ve received we will invite additional classes to come and put their karting prowess to the test.

The following classes will be opened for entry:

  • Prokart SSS 390 class
  • 125cc 2 Stroke
  • Open 4 Stroke Class (Bring what you want Honda GX390 4 Stroke only)

The very first annual event in 2018 attracted 23 entries with 117 drivers in the Prokart SSS 390 class. It was such a fun event for all and now more can take part thanks to the additional classes.

Entries for the Prokart Africa 24 Hour will open on 1 October 2019 and close on 31 October 2019.
