Round 6 was held at Zwartkops Kart Circuit and sponsored by Alientech. Alientech is a worldwide leader in designing and developing tools for engine tuning. They are an Italian company that have been working in this field for many years. Their experience, acquired in all these years allows them to keep on developing safe, reliable and professional tools and software for your car’s ECU (Electronic Control Unit).
ATR (Ant’s Transmission Repairs), also known as “Team ATR 127” uses the KESSv2 Engine ECU and transmission programmer. This is the best tool use to write back the original or modified file in your vehicle’s ECU and is done in just a few minutes by simply communicating through the OBD port.
Through an OBD standard port, or a dedicated connector, the KESSv2 can be connected to cars, motorbikes, trucks, tractors and boats to read and write the parameters of the engine or of the transmission. The goal is to maximise the performance of the vehicle and of the electronic control unit, solving problems that a standard diagnosis never can.

The racing was probably the closest it’s ever been this season. The Minions showed great form and consistency and the Midgets qualifying saw the top 5 within 0.6 seconds of each other, which just shows the amount of talent in the young classes on a circuit that we have only visited once this year before. The “Dash for Cash” feature race of 34 karts returned again for Zwartkops and saw Sidewinder Kart #71 taking pole by only 0.026 seconds. Another full second down the order would see the rest of the karts qualifying up to 14th and the top 25 within 2 seconds of the leader. The racing all around was great and we also welcome some new teams to the club who also performed well for their first time out, congrats to team Sanika Kart #313, Erick Liebenberg Kart #303 and his two sons to took our Sprint 200’s for their first outing. We see a lot of potential for this new class under development, watch this space.
Round 7 will be held at Laserfiche Raceway on Sunday 9th September 2018 and is known as the “Flip Flop” race. If you don’t know what that’s all about, then enter and come find out!
