Round 3 & 4 Entries Open

Hi Prokarter,

Entries for AF Fans Round 3 and ATR Round 4 are both open. Round 3 will be held at Zwartkops Kart Circuit on 20th May 2018. Round 4 is one of the highlights of the year, where we all go down to iDube Kart Circuit to tackle the Thunderdome and Hockey Stick corners. If it’s your first time attending this circuit, be sure to get there on Friday 22 June to get in some practice.

Programmes for both races will be emailed to you upon entry, however you can also download round 3 progamme here. and Round 4 here.

Entries and payments for Round 4 will be closed on Friday 8 June, 2 weeks prior to race weekend. We need this lead time to plan for the event and ensure all goes smoothly, as usual. Entry is open for all classes. We are also closing entries and payments for Round 3 on Monday 14th May, also to assist with planning ahead. So please, get your entries in today, it will help the committee a great deal.

We would like to thank both our sponsors for their support on both of these events. Please show some love and support those that help us make our passion a reality.

Prokart Official Practice Day

Prokart SSS Practice Day

The committee would like to thank each and every one of our members and parents who attended the practice day. The day was well supported and those who attended received tremendous value by participating. Everyone loved meeting the marshals in a less formal setting and with less adrenaline flowing and the marshals loved every minute of it. What they’ve learned from meeting and talking with drivers will go a long way when they run to your aid next time you have problems on the circuit. They love our series and they love being part of it.

Rob gave some great advice and lessons on the flags and how to conduct yourself on the circuit when obeying flags. A big welcome to the newer teams and members who joined us for this day and who found it very useful and had many positive things to say about the general camaraderie within our series. Great to hear such comments, especially from newbies, which just reminds us what a great series we have and what awesome members we have. Thank you!

4Strokeworkshop

A massive thank you to our engine builder and technical experts from 4StrokeWorkshop, who offered up their time and expertise to the club at no cost. Support like this goes a long way in helping our series and adding more enjoyment to your driving and raceday experience. The lessons they gave on kart maintenance, setup and general tips and tricks are very valuable and we’ve already seen it benefit some drivers. One thing that has stood out for sure is that we are all here to help each other and enjoy our sport together. To do that, kart preparation and setup is an important part of the whole raceday experience being a fun and successful one. If you find that you simply don’t have the time to work on your kart prior to raceday, consider supporting 4StrokeWorkshop and using their services to help make your raceday ever more enjoyable and take the stress out of maintaining and transporting your kart. We have seen that their input makes a big difference to teams, who can now focus more on their racecraft. 4StrokeWorkshop also attends all our racedays and is always available to assist you spares and anything else you may need for your kart. The committee thanks them for their undying support.

We also had our leading drivers within the series coach other drivers on the circuit in controlled sessions, which immediately helped the new guys and even some existing teams improve their times. This will go a long way on raceday, creating closer and more exciting racing. We hope you all put in the seat time and go practice what you’re learned and keep improving on those laptimes.
