Team RKT 1 #5 victors in round 6

Team RKT #5 rules the roost at Round 6

Team RKT #5 were comfortable winners of round 6 of the Prokart Super Single endurance series at Zwartkops International Kart Circuit on Sunday 26 July 2015.
Qualifying was again a close run affair with The “A” Team#22 taking pole by 2/10ths (52.863) from RKT#5 (53.071). The next seven qualifiers were covered by less than a second. So it promised to be a close race again, with making positions a difficulty exercise given the small differences in lap times.

From the fall of the flag RKT#5 showed they were out to win and settled into a comfortable lead during the first session. The “A” Team #22 were holding station second place whilst Containerforce #13 had made a strong start and heading a train of karts fighting for third place. 2P Racing #64 had a mountain to climb, having not made the grid for the start, due to an engine proving reluctant to start. Once again team Logan #35 were putting in a strong showing and their consistency and reliability over the last couple of rounds has seen them challenging for honours at every race.

With around 15 minutes of the race to run, 2P Racing #64 had made a strong recovery to an excellent third place, whilst Kart Shoppe #1 had been suffering due to only having two eligible drivers. RKT #5 had a late scare when the accelerator cable broke necessitating a hasty repair, which saw them drop behind Team Logan #35. Lesson to be learned#1:Two accelerator cables are better than one. However, they were able to catch and pass Team Logan #35 to run out winners by 3 laps, followed by Team Logan #35 and 2P Racing #64.
